1429 - During the Hundred Years’ War, Joan d’Arc leads the French army attempting to capture the town of Jargeau controlled by the 1st Duke of Suffolk, William de la Pole. During the battle Joan d’Arc was hit on the head by a stone while she was climbing a ladder on the wall. The French won the battle even with a difference of 2.000 men with the help of primitive cannons and siege engines.
